D to the C

I promise I don't always talk about work this much, but it's been a happening place lately. Earlier this month I went to a conference in Washington DC and it was wonderful (not really the conference, because sometimes that was boring, but visiting DC again). I think it is such a fun city! I have been a couple times before, but never spent this much time there.

Allow me to introduce you to some pretty famous people I saw there, maybe you've heard of them:

Mr. George Washington (taller than you thought he was, right?)

Mr. Jefferson - second place for my favorite

Mr. and Mrs. John Fitzgerald Kennedy - Arlington National Cemetary was awesome. I even cried a little when they were talking about the guards of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Love the USA.

Mr. Obama and family - We also saw his motorcade transporting him somewhere. Apparently he's a pretty big deal.

And finally, my personal favorite- Mr. Abraham Lincoln. If it wasn't freezing-A cold, I probably would have grabbed a snack and had a little sit there for a while. I love it. So very awe-inducing (?) ("awesome" doesn't cut it here).

Also, I saw Kris Allen (my -past American Idol champ- boyfriend, whom you have probably also heard of) in our hotel, and said hello, but sadly no photos.

The end.

PS: I told you we were going to take 1st place in the Corporate Games. We did.

Corporate Olympics

This year, my work was part of the Corporate Olympic Winter Games. It was our first go at it, and I think we've all been surprised by the success. The closing ceremonies are this weekend, so we don't know the final standing yet, but we are definitely contending for first place!

The first event that we placed in (with a gold medal, no less) was snow sculpting:

(it's a school bus, see?)

and an apple. The stem of which looks alarmingly like poop, but don't worry, it's just a tootsie roll.

The second event I was an athlete in (these events really test your physical strength and stamina, so I feel completely comfortable calling myself an "athlete") was Women's bowling. We got the silver medal. Bo ya!

(I'm not going to sugar coat it guys... I'm a pretty good bowler with the high score of the team- 159)

Other events we've competed in:

Co-ed Bowling
Racquetball- Bronze
Table Tennis
Scrabble- Silver
Dodgeball

I'll post a pic when we take first place and win the Cup!!

Go us!
